    Research

    Dr. Lin’s research group focuses on the study of advanced polymer-based membrane materials and processes for gas and vapor separation and water purification. As an energy efficient separation technology, membrane is an attractive alternative to conventional thermally driven and energy intensive separations in addressing critical challenges in the area of energy and sustainability. Our research projects are often composed of design and synthesis of new materials and characterization of material structure and transport properties, with an end goal of solving practical problems and advancing fundamental understanding of structure-property correlation.       In this Chinese name, the family name is Shiao.

      Shiao Yi (simplified Chinese: 萧逸; traditional Chinese: 蕭逸; pinyin: Xiāo Yì; 4 June 1935 – 19 November 2018) was a Chinese-American wuxia ("martial hero") novelist.[1] and screenwriter who is considered one of the greatest of the genre in the modern era. Shiao Yi was also the founder and first chairman of the Chinese Writers' Association of North America.[2]

      Shiao Yi's Wuxia novels are known for their emphasis on traditional Chinese culture and ethics, the archetype of the Xia (hero), understanding of Taoist philosophy, exquisite sensitivity of romance and human emotions as well as a wide variety of writing styles.[3] Haven written 55 novels and novellas as well as nearly 1,000 essays in the course of his life, Shiao Yi is one of the most successful and prolific Chinese writers to date.       Primary Immunodeficiencies (PIDs) are associated with more than 400 rare monogenic diseases affecting various biological functions (e.g., development, regulation of the immune response) with a heterogeneous clinical expression (from no symptom to severe manifestations). To better understand PIDs, the ATRACTion planerat arbete aims to perform a multi-omics analysis of PIDs cases versus a control group patients, including single-cell transcriptomics, epigenetics, proteomics, metabolomics, metagenomics and lipidomics. In this study, our goal is to develop a common information model integrating clinical and omics information, which can be used to obtain standardized upplysning necessary for characterization of PIDs patients and for further systematic analysis. For that purpose, we extend the OMOP Common information Model (CDM) and föreslå a multi-omics ATRACTion OMOP-CDM to integrate multi-omics uppgifter. This model, available for the community, i
