    EXHIBITION: COMPASSION at MAS Antwerp

‘Compassion’ , a groups-exhibition at the MAS, Museum aan de Stroom in Antwerp. For this exhibition, the @masantwerpen asked to create an entirely new series of photographs. With the work ‘Misericordia,’ Vanfleteren captures the essence of the eight works of mercy in contemporary still lifes. His powerful photographs depict the universal nature of the rituals and scenes surrounding compassion.

Feeling or showing compassion is inherent to humanity and has many faces. The exhibition ‘COMPASSION’ illustrates how we represent this through various times, cultures, and worldviews. It also highlights the abrasive aspects of it. ‘Misericordia’ was created on behalf of the MAS and is part of the exhibition ‘Compassion, the many faces of empathy.’
