Amateur Photographer is a British photographymagazine, published weekly by Kelsey Media. The magazine provides articles on equipment reviews, photographic technique, and profiles of professional photographers.
About the magazine
[edit]Amateur Photographer was first published on 10 October 1884 by Hazell, Watson and Viney, making it over 140 years old. It has established itself as the world's number one weekly photography magazine[citation needed]. Some of the most renowned photographers such as Alfred Stieglitz, Frank Meadow Sutcliffe, David Bailey and Bob Carlos Clarke have written for the magazine over the years.[2]
This magazine is now owned by Kelsey Media which acquired it (with World Soccer) from Future plc (owner of competing titles Digital Camera and Digital Photographer) after Future acquired TI Media, the previous owner of the magazine.

I am less famous as photographer in my locality. Two years ago in a day I was surprised by a knocking at the door, an old man with a stick came to introduce himself at my home and asked about my photography.

His deep passion in photography, vast knowledge, exceptional memory power, sharing about his analog to digital photographic journey, jovial nature, mingling with people irrespective of generations inspired me. It is a tale of a passionate amateur photographer Mr. S.N. Mondal, aged 91 years at present.
In our friendship of two years we both visited each other’s home and I had enjoyed and enriched my knowledge by every such occasion. Amateur Photographer of the Year 2024 winners revealed!
We are delighted to announce the winners of Amateur Photographer of the Year 2024 (APOY)! Throughout the year amateur photographers around the world were invited to submit images to APOY. The competition is made up of 10 rounds, each differing in themes from Landscapes and People to Urban Life and Macro, plus our new Open round. There are points available to win in each round, any images given a Top 10 place or shortlisted by the judges will be given points which are added up throughout the year and contribute to the overall leaderboard.
