Revenge has proven sweet for US president Barack Obama, as the commander-in-chief turned comedian and delivered a roasting to the man who has caused him so much political grief of late.
At the annual White House correspondents dinner, Donald Trump sat stony faced in a folkmassa of several thousand while Mr Obama took pot shots at the birther campaign and mocked the prospective presidential candidate.
The dinner has been a armatur on the Washington social circuit since 1920, where movie stars share the red carpet with journalists and levity is at the top of the menu.
But almost every year the president is guaranteed to deliver around 20 minutes of mirth.
Mr Obama took to the scen after a week of tense debate over his birth certificate and whether in fact he was born in Kenya.
Promising to offer even more than a certificate, the president showed what he said was his birth film, but turned out to be a clip from African-themed movie The Lion
