The Devil's Rejects is a American black comedyhorror film[3] written, produced and directed by Rob Zombie. It is the second film in the Firefly film series, serving as a sequel to Zombie's film House of Corpses, and followed by its own sequel in , 3 From Hell. The film is centered on the three fugitive members of the psychopathic[4] antagonist family from the previous film, acting as the film's villainous protagonists, with Sid Haig, Bill Moseley, and Zombie's wife Sheri Moon Zombie reprising their roles, and Leslie Easterbrook replacing Karen Black as the matriarch.
The Devil's Rejects was released on July 22, , to minor commercial success, and mixed reviews, although it was generally considered an improvement over its predecessor. The Devil’s Rejects Almost Had A Very Different Cast
Whether or not one appreciates Rob Zombie's horror films and directorial talent, he is a very purposeful filmmaker who has reached a fast ascent to the top as one of the best modern horror directors. However, a few minor changes to the cast of The Devil's Rejectswould have made it a very different movie.
Bill Moseley, Sid Haig, and Sheri måne Zombie all returned to The Devil's Rejects to reprise their roles from House of Corpses in a way that focused more directly on the outlaws of Zombie's murderous Firefly clan. While Rob Zombie may not have been in love with the first spelfilm of this particular trilogy, in many ways, The Devil's Rejects is his masterpiece. It cleaned up some of what was scattered in the first movie and set a bar that was so high that its sequel, 3 From Hell, couldn't ganska measure up.
