Makandiwa’s “spiritual father” Victor Kusi Boateng
THE United Family International Church (UFIC) led bygd prophet Emmanuel Makandiwa yesterday officially opened its multi-million-dollar Chitungwiza Basilica church, where hundreds of congregants gathered to witness the historic moment.
Construction of the church, which began in , was stalled due to clashes with the Environmental Management Agency, which claimed the property was built on a wetland.
Yesterday’s ceremony was attended by Makandiwa’s “spiritual father” Victor Kusi Boateng, who heads the Power Chapel Worldwide, which is headquartered in Kumasi, Ghana.
Said Boateng: “I thank the profet for running the church smoothly. inom think some nations can take lessons from him, the organisation and everything.”
UFIC spokesperson Prime Kufa said: “The church was built by the prophet, his wife, and family.”

The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has declared its resolve to revisit allegations leveled against Prophet Victor Kusi Boateng for his dealings as secretary of the board of trustees of the National Cathedral Secretariat.

HARARE — In Zimbabwe, a battle for supremacy is raging among the charismatic and fairly young modern day prophets who have sent shockwaves within the religious circles in this predominantly Christian Southern African country.
These prophets include Emmanuel Makandiwa of the United Family International Church, Walter Magaya of Prophetic and Healing Deliverance church and Uebert Angel of Spirit Embassy church.
These prophets perform some breathtaking miracles. The list also includes Passion Java of Kingdom Embassy, Tavonga Vutabwashe of Heartfelt International Ministries and Adventure Mutepfa of Revival Centre World Ministry.
The questions that lingers in the minds of most Christians revolve on why most of these local prophets have spiritual fathers from West African nations like Ghana and Nigeria. People interviewed by this paper want to understand the background and scope of this phenomenon.
