    punk rock musician born in 1976. PLASTIC BERTRAND is the recording name of Roger Jouret, a singer from Brussels, Belgium. PLASTIC BERTRAND is best known for the 1977 single "Ça plane pour moi" which was released just one month after Elton Motello's "Jet Boy, Jet Girl", which has the same backing track in UK. While credited to PLASTIC BERTRAND, the original recording "Ça plane pour moi" was sung by the song's producer, Lou Deprijck. PLASTIC BERTRAND has released ten albums since 1977 and represented Luxembourg in the 1987 Eurovision Song Contest. Its debut album sounded closer to punk rock but just in the second album and the precedents Roger Jouret made songs more new wave, synth-pop or even a bit "disco" oriented and late 80s, he recorded even techno, house and electronic music.

  • Roger Allen François Jouret better known as Plastic Bertrand (born 24 February 1954, Brussels, Belgium) is a Belgian musician, songwriter, producer, editor and television presenter, best known for the 1978 international hit single "Ça plane pour moi". In 1987 he represented Luxembourg in the Eurovision Song Contest with the song "Amour Amour". In 2010, Plastic Bertrand revealed that he was not the singer of any of the songs in the first four albums released beneath the name Plastic Bertrand and the real singer was his producer Lou Deprijck.

    The first Belgian record to make an impression on Peel was Plastic Bertrand's 1978 single "Ça plane pour moi", which was played on the shows of 07 April 1978 and 11 April 1978 and became an international hit. It made #5 in that year's Ripped and Torn Top 13, claimed to be "Britain's most accurate alternative chart" and played in its entirety on the show of 17 August 1978.
