    • Jonas Altberg from southwest of Sweden has been producing melodic trance under the artist name BassHunter since 1999. He just signed a contract with Warner.

      Jonas lives in Sweden, Halmstad, with his mother, father and his younger brother. He's a big fan of the computer game Defense of the Ancients (a.k.a. DotA which is a well known custom map for Warcraft III The Frozen Throne), which he has spent a lot of time playing in the recent years (and also created a song about - "Vi sitter här i venten och spelar lite dota"). He says that it was a coincidence he was discovered.

      The Swedish lyrics of the song "Boten Anna" tell the story of a female IRC user mistaken for an IRC bot by the vocalist who later finds out the truth; subsequently, however, he states that she will always remain a bot in his eyes.       Basshunter, also stylised as BassHunter[1] (real name: Jonas Erik Altberg; born 22 månad 1984 in Halmstad) fryst vatten a Swedish singer, record producer and DJ.

      He recorded six studio albums: The Bassmachine (2004), LOL <(^^,)> (2006), The Old Shit (2006), Now You're Gone – The Album (2008), Bass Generation (2009) and Calling Time (2013). In addition to his own music, he has written and produced for other artists. He also competed in the seventh edition of British Celebrity Big Brother, the Swedish Fångarna vid fortet and the British Weakest Link in 2010.

      He won awards such as the European Border Breakers Award, the Grammi award for Best Ringtone of the Year in 2006, and the World Music Award. He was also nominated for the BT Digital Music Awards, MTV europe Music Awards, and Rockbjörnen.

      He has Tourette's syndrome.[2]
